The Columbia Neuroscience Society has a longstanding tradition of mentorship for students at all levels. For undergraduates, we act in ways that are akin to a department of neuroscience, offering informal advising and insight for new, transitioning, and curious students. Through our Neuromentorship program, we connect Columbia students seeking advice about careers, opportunities, and related areas of concern in the neurosciences (mentees) to more experienced peers who can provide wisdom and guidance (mentors). Through Neuromentorship, we also host a wide variety of community-building events to accomplish this aim, such as our weekly journal club (Neural Nets), informal Q&A sessions, and peer office hours during registration periods.
